His Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Hasher Al Maktoum (Chairman) together with Mike Gallemore (Director) established WSP Global in 1999.
Since its formation, WSP has extended its business reach with a global sporting magazines portfolio in both print and multi-media formats. WSP first united print and digital media formats at the 2002 Accenture Match Play Championship in California, becoming one of the first large-scale events to offer a traditional onsite programme to readers all over the world online. Since then, WSP has grown into a multi-faceted, one-stop-shop international publishing house and creative media solutions agency with offices in the UK, Dubai, Paris and Hong Kong.
From publishing, PR and event management to web design and new media solutions, our in-house team of experienced journalists, videographers, designers and communication specialists combine to deliver a first class customised product to suit all requirements. WSP’s two flagship magazines, Worldwide Golf and SFME (Sport & Fitness Middle East), are the biggest golf magazine and all-sports magazine, respectively, in the Middle East region, attracting readerships of well over 150,000.
Over the years, WSP has established itself as global market leaders in golf tournament publishing as publishers of Official Tournament Programmes for the European Tour, the European Senior Tour, the European Challenge Tour, the PGA TOUR, the PGA TOUR Champions, the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour.
Worldwide Golf is the Official Media Partner to the European Tour in the Middle East and the Official Magazine of the Emirates Golf Federation. Many of our magazines are published in dual languages, including Japanese, Chinese, Czech, French, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Arabic.
WSP also publishes a range of other sporting publications including official horseracing event magazines such as the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, in French and English, one of the world’s most significant and prestigious horseracing meetings.
In 2011, we took our first steps into PR by handling the official press unveiling of former World Footballer of the Year, Fabio Cannavaro for Dubai’s Al Ahli FC.
In 2013, we expanded our PR division and began handling major accounts for the European Tour, Challenge Tour and European Senior Tour including the Race to Dubai, the prestigious DP World Tour Championship and host of other events including the Challenge Tour Grand Final, the Oman Open, the Qatar Masters and the Sharjah Senior Golf Masters.
In 2015, we established an in-house Arabic editorial and PR division which boasts over 40 years’ worth of combined journalistic experience working for some of the region’s biggest titles and servicing the requirements of the European Tour in the region as well as working across WSP’s consumer and contract publishing divisions.
In 2017, WSP’s events division, in partnership with Sixteen10, began organising, hosting and promoting the Swing Against Cancer Golf Series which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local cancer charities and has featured some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment.
In 2018, WSP’s contract publishing division reached a new high when it was selected as official publisher for the 42nd Ryder Cup at Le Golf National, Paris – one of the biggest occasions in world sport.
